The Undead Are On Their Way

As you may have noticed if you've looked at the comments of this Kickstarter, shipping has begun and at least a few backers have their books! I hear from our partners that most of the domestic shipping has gone out, and the international shipments should be going out this next week. 

If you get your books and something is wrong (damage, wrong books, etc.), or if a couple of weeks (US) or a month (international) goes by and you don't get your stuff, PM me and we'll figure it out. 

I hope that you enjoy this last product from Growling Door Games. I'm not planning on updating this Kickstarter again unless something goes really off the rails, so this is pretty much goodbye.

The Undead are in the House!

Finally, finally, finally, the print copies of Undead have come in. They're being shipped to our fulfillment partners, and should either already be there or get there early next week. Likewise, I've sent off the add-ons from the BackerKit to be sent out, so your packages should start getting sent out very soon. 

As most of you probably know, Growling Door Games is shutting down. Undead is going to be the last book for Chill 3rd Edition under our direction, though of course the owners of the IP may choose to license it to someone else. Thank you so much to everyone who's supported us, and Chill, over the last five years, and I hope that you enjoy Undead.

Hey, folks! Today I got word from our printers that the books are on the way to Chicago and should arrive early or mid next week. Very exciting! Corpses ahoy! 

So here's what you need to know:

• I'm going to be closing the BackerKit on Friday, February 8th, 5PM (ish) Eastern time. At that time, your cards will be charged. 
• I will send out a reminder on Wednesday (Feb 6th) and a 24-hour warning on Thursday (February 7th).  Please take a minute and verify that your shipping is correct, both in terms of address and in terms of the card you have on file for shipping charges. 
• Once the books arrive in Chicago, most of them will get sent to our fulfillment partners (Magpie Games), who will box up the books and send them out. 
• At present there are about a dozen of you who haven't completed the BackerKit. If you don't complete it, you don't get your stuff, so please go ahead and do that.

November Update: Approved for Production

Good news, everyone! Undead is finally off at the printers. There were some delays getting the files prepped and sent over to Kraken, but it's done, I've approved Kraken's proofs, and the book is being printed. 

Kraken estimates 10-12 weeks for printing and delivering, so we're probably look at early February until the books come in, meaning that, if all goes more or less well, you'll be getting your books by the end of February or beginning of March. 

I want to apologize once again for the delays. I hope that I've been able to keep everyone apprised of what's happening, so that even if the delays are frustrating (and holy shit, they are), at least everyone knows what's going on. 

I have plans for the next Chill book, but I'll be sharing more about that once I get a little more work done on it. When the time comes to Kickstart it, we'll pad the schedule more and hopefully avoid these issues. However, I do want to point out that Chill, SAVE, and Monsters were all delivered on time (or with delays that were nothing like this), so hopefully it's clear that these problems were the exception, not the rule.

In any case, I will update again next month, though hopefully that update will be "books are printing, nothing else to report, happy holidays!"

At long last! Undead is done, laid out, art'd, and in PDF form. 

You should be getting an email with a coupon code for Undead from DriveThru RPG later today.

What if I don't get the email?

Check your spam folder, it's probably there. If it's not: 

• Log in to DriveThruRPG and you should be able to download it anyway, if you have an account associated with the email address you provided in BackerKit.
• Speaking of which, did you fill out the BackerKit? If not, that might be why you didn't get the email!

Is this the final version of the PDF?

Just about. It's missing the back cover and the ISBN, but neither of those are exactly essential to the reading experience and I really want to get this into your hands. You'll see an update next week-ish that'll have the final version, but that's all that will be different. 

That's all very well, but I want my physical book.

Yeah, me, too. So, here's where we are with that. Now that the PDF is done, we can get the files finalized for print. Printing should take about 10-12 weeks (I know, I know) and then we'll get the books, after which the shipping process will be begin. So, we're probably looking at late January for final delivery. 

So when will you close the BackerKit?

I will probably close the BackerKit and charge your cards as close to the shipping date as I can, which probably means sometime in mid-January. There are reasons for this.

• I want to make sure we have the damn books before I go charging you for shipping.
• Getting an influx of money right at the end of the year isn't great for tax purposes.
